The 'One Belt One Road' Outbound Investment & Legal Service Seminar was held on 30 August in Shanghai. The seminar was jointly organized by Veritas, DMS, Longwin Finance and Estar Home.
China's 'One Belt One Road' initiative provides precious opportunities for Chinese investors to make outbound investments. However, due to huge differences in politics, economy, culture and legal system among the 'Belt and Road' countries, Chinese investors must pay attention to the potential risks, improve capacity of ensuring overseas benefits and integrate with the investment target in a harmonious way. The seminar focued on how to improve the risk management of outbound investment, how to resolve the trade disputes and how to protect legitimate rights of Chinese investors.
At the seminar, Mrs. Lijuan He,Managing Partner of Shanghai Veritas Law Corporation, gave a speech in subject of 'Enterprises to go out, Law for the escort', analysing the risks and the reasons of failure in the process of making outbound investments. She also introduced the relevant policies and legal solutions in respect of Chinese enterprises' going out.
Mr. Leon Yee, Managing Director of Duane Morris & Selvam ('DMS'), gave a presentation about the investment opportunities and legal systems of US and Singapore. And Mrs. Lan Yu, DMS associate, introduced the India and Myanmar practices.
The seminar attracted around forty audiences to attend including investors, enterprisers, legal associates, financial professionals, etc.
